watched this ladies interview from I believe the 90s and she sounds extremely truthful. cops witnissed this and came forward and said she was telling the truth. was only actually thinking about this case yesterday and then BAM! netflix make a doco on it...weird how the world works

Y’all need to read the book! Budd Hopkins is a great investigator and author. This case kept me up at night.

I've communicated with both Linda Napolitano (the abductee) and Carol Rainey (the lead investigator's ex-wife, who claims it was all a hoax) over Facebook quite a bit over the last 7 years, trying to figure out if this happened or not. I'm 90% sure it did. Linda still stands by her story. Carol, meaning no offense, was a failed filmmaker and then a failed author and it seems like she wants to be famous for "achieving" something. Budd Hopkins (the investigator, who died in 2011) says in his autobiography how he married Carol quickly but realized soon after that she wasn't at all what she presented herself as to him at first, and seemed very jealous that he spent so much time with Linda investigating her case. I believe Carol always remained extremely bitter and angry at Budd for divorcing her and at Linda as well.

Bottom line, there are nearly 30 people who witnessed this abduction. The book on the abduction ends with Budd describing how he met the Secretary General of the United Nations, Javier Perez de Cuellar (who was also abducted at the same time as Linda, along with his two bodyguards) in a Chicago airport, who knew about the articles Budd had written claiming that he was part of the abduction. Budd had also received a letter allegedly from him admitting to the abduction but saying he would never, ever go public. De Cuellar was mostly quiet but didn't deny anything Budd said to him about the abduction case, just looked at him stone-faced. If it didn't happen, the man would have jumped up and adamantly said so. Budd said he had no doubt the man was admitting to it by not denying it.

This is one of the most credible cases actually witnessed by multiple people that included Javier Perez de Cullar and his security detail.
