To be fair, "the economy" can be an ambiguous term. GDP can be going up, unemployment can be down, while wages stay stagnant and prices keep soaring. In other words "the economy" can be doing great, while you personally might experience more economic hardship. These polls might speak more to the unequal distribution of wealth in America.
