FINALLY, someone explains how to actually modify a child theme. I keep finding instructions to MAKE one, and then lots of people saying "oh, just modify the functions.php to do add so and so...", but no one has said HOW to modify these php files. Thank you!

Did you copy your style.css file from the parent theme and then add your information at the top? Or did you create a completely new style.css file for your child theme? Thanks for the great tutorial!
