Will artificial intelligence one day be the keepers of orchids? Can artificial intelligence take over orchid care, orchid pest control, use the best orchid potting mix, ensuring the best orchid watering schedule, or the best orchid fertilizer? How about; can artificial intelligence teach us more about orchid care guides than we assume to know? I am using Chat GPT to bring you the best care for phalaenopsis orchids, and will revisit this artificial intelligence information as the technology updates over the coming years. How much can we learn about orchid care tips from artificial intelligence? #orchidtypes #cattleya #orchidspecies #orchid #diseases #pests #orquideas

4:25 pm in hot, humid, steamy Florida.
You are not new to me, however I am to you.
In this phal care video, you mention phals are usually potted in bath, yet you have leca . I recall one of your ( charming) asides where you state you are using lava rock, as you don’t care to have your orchid’s roots struggling to crawl over those big lumps of leca. Perhaps those orchids to which you refer grew fragile roots ?
I like that you chuckle.

Hi, Nina - It was much nicer to hear this in your voice than the chat gpt robo-voice!

I think Chat GPT did a fairly good job on this one, if we are limiting it to complex hybrids (and some species). On the subject of Phal care, I just have to share this because I did this --->🤦‍♀earlier today. I'm out walking the dogs after they had dinner and I notice something strange in the front of a house up the street. There, planted in the ground in full sun, sits a Phalaenopsis, it wasn't there yesterday. I thought surely it must be a plastic plant so I went up to touch it. Nope, it was real. They planted a Phal in the ground in full sun. I so badly wanted to knock on the door and tell them they were stupid but I didn't. It will be dead in the very near future. If it was an orchid I might care about, I might have been more proactive on its behalf.

Chat GTP does allways the same thing.
Generalising and then pointing to the research or check for yourself.
This was not bad for an overview for beginners.
It only fits for typical hybrids.
When it comes to "summer bloomers" watering is different. When it comes to some some species fertilising is different.

What size should the bark chunks be for full sized Phalaenopsis orchids?

I need proof of life now, Nina. (Yours! ) . Jokes apart, is sphagnum moss, ‘a well draining medium’? I don’t think so. Because it takes no time at all to compact. And then…..

🦒💐👋🙋 Chat GPT: This one was not any different from we can read on the webs about Phalaenopsis general care. That is where it "drinks" its information, learning from where it can. Some time ago we were talking about chat GPT, my children and I and we asked it a few questions. The reply we got was similar to this but when we asked about the history of the firm where my daughter works which goes back to over 100 years ago, many facts were not accurate. After we mentioned the inacuracies chat GPT checked it out and then apologized and thanked for the heads up and for helping it to learn more. I thought, oh well humble enough to be able to understand it does not know everything yet and willing to learn more 😮
Have a great start to the week amiga mia 🫶😘🤗
