A simple and easy way to understand and review diagnose pontine infarct. The main structures in the pons are: corticospinal tract, 6th nerve, 7th (facial) nerve and the cerebellar peduncle. A pontine infarct may cause nausea, vomiting, vertigo, facial paralysis, 6th nerve palsy on the same side of the stroke, and hemiparesis on the opposite side.
