the fact that he has a giant restored steam engine shows how much Jay truly appreciates the progress of engineering and craftsmanship.

no phony drama...no scripted tension... just informed and interesting conversation from someone who is completely at ease with his subject matter and being before an audience

I would hazard a guess that I am not the only one who thinks that the restoration blogs are one of the best features of the channel! They are like mini-tours of your garage, with interesting anecdotes along the way. Please continue to post these blogs on a regular basis! Thank you, Jay!

What I love about jay is the fact the he doesn’t boast or brag about what he has accomplished about the cars he’s gotten done. He always throws the appreciation to the people working for him or the outside vendors he’s gotten parts from. It really shows how nice of a guy he is and how much he loves cars.

Jay Leno is arguably the most down to earth and respected celebrity in this day and age. He is a successful entrepreneur and comedian, yet would definitely walk & talk you through any one of his vehicles if you met him on the street. Thank you, Jay, for preserving the automotive passion like you do!

4 years ago, my brother and I were at the top of Mulholland Highway, near a section called the Snake. After doing some spirited runs up and down the snake, we sat at the top and just hung out. 10 minutes passes and Mr. Jay himself rolls up in a classic blue Chrysler. The most honest, humble and nice "hollywood" guy I've ever met. Truly a class act. It was very cool to chat about cars for a few minutes before he went on his way. Nice to meet you Mr. Leno :)

Jay takes a fire engine out for a ride. The engine blows. He promises, "I''ll fix the engine for you."
"Well, $60, 000 later, [chuckles] it's done; but it's beautiful and it's going to run just fabulous."
Jay Leno: A man of his word.

I remember back in the late 70's in LA...probably the Improv....went often to see you. Started to know your routine almost by heart. Never a foul word and the funniest guy there. "Imagine what's in a FREE hotdog!" And here we are 50 years later, and you are still entertaining us all. You are a blessing, Jay.

My favorite Jay Leno quote of all time is:
"We find an old car in a barn or on the desert, buy it for $5, 000, put $100, 000 in it, and - hey buddy, you got yourself a $40, 000 car."

You didn’t ruin the car you made it drivable so it can be enjoyed and appreciated. As you said, you kept the parts so if someone wants to make it underivable and unreliable again that can do so. What I admire about your collection is that you appreciate the cars and motorcycles and you drive them as the designer intended.

Who is like me? Watching/listening those steam engines run for hours at a time as a form of relaxation and yet I am only 22?

Can we all please agree that J. Leno contributes so much to our automotive world? I know nothing about the man but I am impressed and greatful for all he does. Then, he shares it with us! Rock-on Jay Leno.

Jay modifies cars the right way: to make them more drivable without ruining the character of the car. I always love his restomods.
