A Beginner and an Expert Make the Same Corset (18th Century Stays)

I made a new set of 18th century stays in one week while also teaching my friend Joy to make her first ever stays! Pro tip: if you're hand stitching lacing holes, put on a good British miniseries to make the time go quickly. Once you get into a rhythm, you barely have to think about it and you get quicker, especially with a button stitch.

I love finger looping, but once you start you are stuck! I cannot imagine trying to do that much at once!!!

Loved the fingerloop/toe system - I've had so much trouble figuring out how to get the bit closest to the end to be tight..

can you explain more the why behind the boning placement? it's really hard to find any directions other than "wherever it bunches on the mockup" or "where we told you, cause i say so"
