Wow that is a great story! So many twists and turns. The Rolling Stones asked Sam for permission to record "It's All Over Now". Bobby was against the idea. But Sam said just wait and see how much money you will make from the Stones version. Bobby would say he loved the Rolling Stones after the money in fact started to come in. Can't wait for your next video!

BOBBY WOMACK WAS SUCH A LEGENDARY AND GREAT WRITER THAT THEY SAID THERE WOULD NEVER BE MANY LIKE HIM EVER IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY.👈🏿

INCREDIBLY INFORMATIVE. THANK YOU for this. I do hope the brothers were properly paid the royalties due them by the STONE'S label. Quite a few horror stories in those days (one notably about four British guys who got rooked terribly when it came to proper payment of royalties).
I'll subscribe and look forward to more content from you!

The Five Stairsteps was the model the Jackson 5 was built on ....

It is also noted that Bobby Womack’s son that he had by Sam Cook’s wife died tragically by becoming stuck between a living room couch and smothering to death. This affected Bobby the rest of his life and he wrote a song about it.😑🤦🏾‍♂️😢 I thought you were going to touch on this in the video; but, you can only touch on so much in one video.👈🏿

Did they get the publishing royalies for "It's All Over Now"?

Elizabeth Cotten also played left-handed, with a conventional guitar held upside down and backwards like Bobby. I'm pretty sure that surf guitarist Dick Dale, who played left handed, also started out upside down and backwards, but later on, used a restrung guitar. It's been years, so don't quote me on that, but I'm about 80% sure on that.

Here's a video where it shows Ms. Cotten playing "Freight Train, " and you can see clearly that the bass string is on the bottom.

For as obscure to the general public as she seems to have been, Cotten was hugely, powerfully influential on generations of blues, rock, and folk musicians. The wiki page is worth spending some time on.

The shoe string story is old. The same was said about the Jackson's.
