Ways to identify if someone has a 'gaming disorder'

Canadians have been gaming significantly more during the pandemic, to keep themselves occupied according to experts. This has more adults and kids developing video gaming addictions.

The World Health Organization (WHO) qualified "gaming disorder" as a mental health disorder in 2019.

This was a waste of a video, I grew up with a "video game addiction" but it wasn't a complete definition of addiction, I knew I played a lot of games because I didn't have friends, but I didn't have friends for the reason I had trouble making friends.

playing games has helped me get forward in life, reaction time, critical thinking, reasoning, the list just goes on.

"video game addiction" is just the surface level of something much deeper.

I was told my whole childhood that I "Was addicted to video games." To the point that I believed it. In grade 10, I packed up my Xbox 360 and stopped gaming for about a month. What I discovered is that NOTHING CHANGED! I started "Wasting" time watching T.V with my mom, who convinced me that I "Had a problem" in the first place.
At the end of the day, I learned that I had a time management problem but video games weren't the cause, they were a symptom. I still game to this day and do everything that I need to do. Addiction isn't the issue, it's time management, and lack of motivation.

People don't attend classes for months and game all day, not because they are addicted to gaming but avoiding something. In his case, its likely he didn't enjoy the course, its a very different playing a game and coding at home that having to do a course where almost certainly everyone is far ahead and far more motivated. But sure, promote whatever it is that pays you by the hour
