I mean that shot was perfectly normal it hit the roof due to drop, penetrated hit the optic and went a bit farther into the turret before detonating also the hit alone would have created spalling since soviet armor was hard but extremely brittle and had cracks already

the IS-1/KV-85 turret has some bulges on the roof that can get penned

That... actually might be possible.
If the shell was plunging a little more than it was rendered at, then it probably had a good chance of going through the paper roof armor. Also, it hit a small bump on the turret that pulled the shrapnel down, so I'd say this is just one bloody good shot.
