VHS is a 100% analog format, there is no region locking. It's the old PAL/NTSC issue from the days before HD made these systems obsolete. Australia like (most of) Europe used PAL and NTSC was (at least) used in North America and Japan. So, the issue was signal compatability. Although my last 2 tube TVs (Thomson and Philips) and all my DVD players never had an issue displaying NTSC. Dunno about VCRs though and if american models were the same in that regard.

EU and AUS have a different TV format that is PAL so their VHS tapes (and other video media) won't work in the US since we used the NTSC format. It was the same for video games. Ken you need to brush up on your physical media history.

I just got the crow 4k, fletch blu-ray and fletch lives blu-ray, dune 2 4k earlier, American sniper 4k earlier as well
