Professor Julian Savulescu is is an Australian philosopher, bioethicist and renowned professor at the University of Oxford. He is well known for his breakthrough research and opinions on selective genetic testing, and stem cell research. Julian´s areas of research include: the ethics of genetics, especially predictive genetic testing, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, prenatal testing, behavioural genetics, genetic enhancement, gene therapy. Research ethics, especially ethics of embryo research, including embryonic stem cell research. Savulescu coined the phrase procreative beneficence. It is the controversial putative moral obligation of parents in a position to select their children, for instance through preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), to favor those expected to have the best life. An argument in favor of this principle is that traits (such as empathy, memory, etc.) are ""all-purpose means"" in the sense of being instrumental in realizing whatever life plans the child may come to have.

Mi respeto al Profesor. Claramente, pese a compartir la medicina como carrera de grado, nos diferenciamos en la bioética por los presupuestos. Sin dudas que Ud. parece una persona libre, aunque finalmente aparece Ud. muy dependiente de que su postulado sea regla para la humanidad. Y también nos diferencia su gran historia de pensador bioeticista: yo comencé el estudio formal hace apenas unos años.
