Dr. Nadine Burke Harris, California's first-ever Surgeon General , is dedicated to changing the way our society deals with the public health crisis of childhood trauma. An overwhelming scientific consensus demonstrates that cumulative adversity, particularly during critical and sensitive developmental periods, is a root cause to some of the most harmful, persistent and expensive health challenges facing our nation. Congratulations
I heard you 5 years ago
I was just educating the boys tonight
Adopted rats that were nurtured

Sadly I’m almost 60
Adopted by an abused lady
Shocking
My father was gay
Marital stress
My mother got me locked in a mental hospital

15-19 years old

A paddling dog never drowns

I was self employed
Just stellar for 25 years
But the substance
You are correct quite a lot
But
From the sewage of my start
And many hours of self questioning
I got the picture

Possibly my trauma
Every body has it worse
I think I deflected adverse health problems
Due to proper self medication

I’ve never agreed with any one more
Hoping you see the positivity your voice carries.
I wish wind in your sails

Is there any such initiative in Europe? I'm having a child but don't want to pass over my bagage...

I'm curious what correlation is between these ACE's and the onset & rise of autoimmune disorders. I was in a toxic household growing up and tho I wasn't physically or sexually abused, there was some extreme emotional trauma in what I witnessed on the regular growing up.
Now I was diagnosed 12 years ago with crohn's disease in my early 30's though I am certain that I had been living with undiagnosed crohn's for over 10 years prior.
Anyway, I could go on & on but I just am curious if there was any connection to the ACE's and the onset of autoimmune disease.
