Working as an optometrist's assistant showed me not only the doctors lives on the clock but also learning their fulfilling lives once the clock ran out. It wasn't like the emergency rooms where they went home, they were able to hang their coats at the end of the day after the office closed and it was able to be kept like that. Which it was great for their work-life balance. Even got to see one of them retire!
