The whole "mysogynist" thing for this film is stupid. 10 Cloverfield Lane had a great female lead, Star Wars had a great female lead, The Help had a great female cast, Orange is the New Black has a great female cast, and so on. This movie simply didn't look funny and had "hollywood cash-grab" written all over it.

Alien: Female protagonist....men loved it. Terminator: Female protagonist...men loved it. Ghostbusters 2016...female protagonists....men hate it. This movie is hated because it was PURE because of a female cast.

So they basically showed men to be stupid, but that is okay because women somehow get a free pass on double standards. And not only did they not show respect to the previous original, they pretty much shat all over it. So yeah, people were totally unjust in showing this film hate.

I'll tell you why this Ghostbusters movie deserves all the hate. Their marketing has been simply appalling.

On Jimmy Kimmel, they decided to bash their targeted audience by nerd-sharming them, accusing them of sexism and general misogyny. That was the final straw for me.

i'll concede that a small fraction of the internet was sexist towards the movie and it's trailers - but they completely ignored the overwhelming criticism (which was a 100% legitimate) and chose to focus on sexism and to accuse any critics of the movie/trailers as sexist douchebags like it happened in the case of the Cinemassacre guy. That is fucking enraging.
