Thank you for pointing out things that were in the trailers but not in the final film. Please keep doing this for future reviews.

I like how you can hear the actual sadness of Dan throughout the whole review watching as something he cherished is reduced to a quarterly investors item off a list of projects to get investors excited for.

Nice review. For me, I'm one of those Cloud 9 people. I'm going to see it again for sure. What I wanted in a Ghostbusters movie was to expand on the mythology, bring Ghosts back to New York, further develop this new characters while passing the torch to the new cast. Have some really great action and laughs along the way, with some heart at its core. For me, this movie delivered on all of that. For me, this movie was awesome!

How can you say that the new team is worthy of carrying the torch? The original Ghostbusters was a cynical comedy with the lead character, Venkman being a selfish dick, a science imposter. Now there is a cuddly family - the new generation completely spoiled the fun of the original Ghostbusters.

Stripmined and sold for parts is a good description of all the reboots out these days

Back to the Future should never be remade...

This movie broke my heart. It’s like Sony held a gun to Jason’s head and was like MAKE A SEQUEL!!

There was just nothing there. No heart. No soul. No depth.

Ray was a realistic guy working on Ecto and now he’s like the crazy guy with the hair on Ancient Aliens.

Phoebe and were her character went is WILD to me. The fact that she wasn’t spending her summer working on tech and the lab and was flirting with a girl ghost was WILD.

Wasn’t Paul Rudd a science nerd in AL? Here he was just a comic. Still two movies in and he’s yet to wrap a ghost with his neutrana wand.

And the 15 other characters were just overstuffed and pointless.

Legitimately the most angry I’ve ever been seeing a movie just every 10 min my brain going “what is happening”

Paul Rudd may the actor with lines most often in the trailer but not in the movie. His comedic bits make good trailers.

I love how there's already like 5 or 6 notifications in my YouTube account and all of them posted Ghostbusters Frozen Empire review at the same time. I know it's the whole embargo thing but it's still kinda funny how it's all posted on youtube at the same time 😂

Dan might have just jinxed Back to the Future.

Wild to hear they cut the funniest joke in the trailer from the movie

They will eventually make Back to the Future, after the creators are gone. But I should be gone by then too, so I don't have to see it. 😂😂

Shoot. "Overruled." "Sustained." is pretty funny. I love quick banter that still feels natural and off-the-cuff

That is CRAZY that those 3 scenes that Dan showed from the trailers are NOT in the film. What is it with hollywood trying to "trick" people to see mediocre movies? Just make good movies and word of mouth will spread it on its own. Sad time for us cinephiles

How can those scenes not be in the movie?!!! That's wild!!!!

In every Ghostbusters film if you are not Bill Murray or Signourney Weaver you show up in parts, and that's it. This is true for Afterlife as well with some characters being gone for more than several scenes at a time, or not nearly being as central as you might think. With Villains it's different every film, Gozer is barely in the first film (she gets way more in Afterlife), Vigo is revealed to the audience, but it isn't until midway that our heroes even have an idea it's the painting. What I'm getting at is that Ghostbusters films are often criticized for things that aren't even true for the other films. The wildest part is that people complain that every sequel isn't like the first film, but then dump on it for not being too much like it's insane.

I agree with you on the Patton Oswald thing, I'm pretty sure I audibly sighed when he came on screen because I knew it wasn't going to be important and he was just there because of who he is. They easily could have had Ray just know about the items Pattons character shows them and it would have made just as much sense and maybe allowed some more time for the final act to breathe

I was actually surprised to hear that the screenplay was written by Jason Reitman and Gil Kennan. Like, those are actually talented people. Judging from the lukewarm reviews (and trailer), I kind of assumed this had been written by a bunch of executives, or even A.I.
