I wonder why they count from the mother's lineage. Shouldn't it be the father like all other tribes?? Also who r the real jews??

I cant agree with the mother concept. They were established by the father - Numbers 1:18. That would mean that the YSTR markers of Ashkenazim, Sephardim, and all the other groups would identify which tribe.

Not all jews believe the whole mother lineage idea. I'm not a jew but I study the Hebrew Scriptures. And this idea is false. Many offspring of Jewish men with non-Jewish women were still considered Jewish. This is why you hear many people speak out negatively about modern Judaism. Because it differs greatly from the biblical religion practiced long ago.

Based on the Torah, I'm going to say that the Rabbi may need a bit more education because it's clearly the lineage of the father and nowhere does it even mention mother. Judaism or Jewish is also the religion and Hebrew is the actual ethnicity and language....

saying that you qre jewish only if your mother is Jewish is right only according to the Jewish law but genetically its of course not true. its just was the easiest way back then to determine if someone is Jewish because its easy to know who is the mother of a newborn but you cant really know for sure who is the father.

So how come all the Jews in Israel look European? I’m not trying to be negative. I’m a man of learning. What is the direct genealogy to Abraham, or Noah? Because Israel in my mind is in the Middle East and close to Africa? I would think jews would look brown or maybe even black like the people of the region. Please enlighten me with some genealogy. The rabbi is mixing things up and talking nonsense. There is no such things as 100% Jewish when it comes to DNA.
Many Ashkenazi have less than 10% Semitic DNA that goes back to the Lavant. Also, you CAN convert to Judaism, and people DID convert in history.
That's why you have Jews from so many ethnic groups with shared DNA and a shared Torah.

So I converted a few years ago and found out my parents took a 23 and me test and learned we had a 3% Jewish Heritage. So.. at the end of the day we have been estranged from the Jewish community for centuries so there is a lot more to it then DNA but I’m trying to find when the turning point was in my family.
