Wait, have you ever flown the HoverAir X1 ? This is the drone that changed the industry. It was just a matter of time before DJI came out with something better.

Well that does look like a handy little drone. I can see how it would be addicting with the FPV setup. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for when it hits store shelves. Thanks Russ!

5:40 That was one of Kelly's wishes when he was looking at the leaks and making a "wish" video about this. That drone looks so tiny and adorable!

I ordered my Neo flymore bundle with RC N3 today in the us. Ordered from my commercial drone dealer

Ive found that almost any child in like the 8-12 yr range is immediately enthralled at the sight or chance to fly any drone. And I feel like they are able to easily and intuitively operate any DJI drone, and fly relatively confidently. The Avata 2, especially with the motion con has been a real treat for most kids that I've seen try it, and they've all been very excited for it. I think it's just unfortunate about the price. Would be nice to see a cheap budget goggles/mo-con meant for the neo.

Many kids already have experience operating them, since those cheap Walmart drones and those mini flip/trick drones are popular toys.

Now, about the Neo, I think your opinion is decent. It is like am evolution of those cheap Walmart/toy drones. Offering a cheap and small package, that has a lot of things to offer, and give you a taste of all the more expensive drones.

I see this drone as mainly a toy, or a travel item for a casual user, maybe just wanting to take some selfie while on vacation, without asking someone to take it.

I could also see this as a tool for roofing or something. A small thing that can be just tossed in a tool bag or box, and can be sent up with your phone to check a spot or seam on a roof before setting up a ladder/scaffolding. Not really good enough quality for professional output, or saving the media, but using it for real time view. More than good enough for just looking at stuff.

Or I could see it for something like if you ride bikes or hike, and you wanted to post something to social media. Small enough to just toss it in a bag or pack with a single battery, and no need for a controller or SD card. Get a short video or Pic to post your workout on Facebook or whatever.

Thanks for the post! This so much like the Hover X1 that I have, and so many of its modes are so similar, you’d almost think it’s like a Hover X+ kind of a thing! Right at the same time the Pro versions of the Hover gets released is no coincidence! That it’s compatible with my Avata 2’s goggles, and motion is nice though. I’m more likely to upgrade to the Hover that I already have, I like the compactness and its longer battery life. Thanks

Thank you so much for your contribution to all drone users. I watched your other video on the DJI ban issues. Excellent coverage! Don't forget that the band would affect not just individuals but families as well. You're one good example of that potential.

I am looking at this as a possible cheap "keep in the car" drone for site surveys/etc. Something you can grab in a case "just in case" when you head out. No one wants to keep their good gear in a car where it can be stolen.

Was happy to hear that you now have someone in your family to enjoy your drones with. Please try flying with the RC2 controller when you do your next video. The latest update to the RC2 suggest that it is compatible with the Neo. Thanks Russ.

When Care refresh costs about the same as Lunch for 2... at Macdonalds. You are onto something.

Just a heads up today is 09/07/24. DJI’s website estimates 10/09/25 delivery to Florida.

I think you totally nailed it in the intro. My son has been interested in drones ever since the first Avata and has been very into Avata 2 (mainly because Goggles 3 fit his small head much better than the FPV Goggles V2 that I had), but getting another one for him at that price was a bit hard to justify. Neo at 209€ was an instant order before we even watched the video, it's gonna be his first drone of his own and he already has a motion controller ready to go since I am not really using it. Now we just need the rumored new cheaper goggles to come out so he doesn't have to borrow my Goggles 3 🙂

All the complaints I've seen so far have been completely ridiculous. People seem to ignore the fact that it's a $199 135G drone... Give it a break 😄

Wrong. The dji spark was the first simultaneous charging one😉

Nice review, I'm tempted but for me it falls short in too many ways because

1 I fly racing/ freestyle drones analogue looking to go digital, this does not allow full control?

2 I ride emtb and 12mph is way too slow to follow me.

3 the video artifacts honestly look awful.

So for me this is nothing more than a toy which yes is very cool and great for kids etc.
I just think those issues could easily be fixed for next to no money on DJI s part so the only reason to have these limitations is to make you go buy a more expensive drone later on....

I really hope they make it backwards compatible. I can't afford to buy all new equipment.

I'm a little confused by the marketing for this - even TRUST folks have to have control over their UAS at all times, but it seems the main audience is being sold this based on being hands-free

Wonder one thing, in quick shots, is it able to go back to you/your hands, after you moved or changed position? Thanks!
