Fez: First Look Teaser

After 4 grueling years in development, Fez, the long awaited platformer from indie developer Polytron, will finally make its way to XBLA in 2012. Winner of the "Excellence in Visual Art" award at the Independent Game festival of 2008, Fez looks to build upon that with gameplay mechanics that bear striking similarity to the likes of Super Paper Mario. Wow. This simply looks amazing. I mean, was anyone expecting the whole thing to twist and trun like that? It looked perfectly twodimensional initially. I'm probably getting this for the presentation alone!

i've always saw this on Gamespot, and have been following it since about 2 years ago. FINALLY, they actually have a video/teaser of it. It looks really interesting and i'm planning on it's release.

for me, gaming has always been about the feeling you get playing the game. the gameplay will naturally flow from a project in which love has been poured by it's creators. anyone who isn't immediately struck by the meditative quality of this clip needs to turn off their computer and go reserve madden 2013.

@mihaitza55 First of all, it's an Indie game, so they have a lot less to work with and a lot more to do. Second, they clearly state in the description of the video that this is just a glimpse of the visuals.

@frostriuss firstly, unlimited technology isn't even finished yet, plus its a completely different engine compared to what has been used for so long now. secondly, your saying that the artists that produce the bigger titles are sub par when, in all actuality, it takes them just as long, if not longer, to produce all the details in their games. they're not sub par, your just looking at it the same way others do because you saw something prettier.

At first, I thought, "Really? Four years for a 2D platformer?" Then I kept watching to see what the big deal was, then... "OHHHH Holy crap! Whoa! I need to play this game now."

@BioHazardousPitch look at some other older vids of it, like the PAX one on the side. you platform and rotate the environment in crazy ways, creating this awesome optical illusion and sense of timing. it looks so fun.
