The Truth of the Roman Catholic Church - Tim Conway

If I trust in Christ's finished work, in His once and for all sacrifice, and that justifies me in the sight of God; then there is no place for purgatory whatsoever. The Catholic teaching of purgatory is self payment, and it is not Christ's payment. It is at odds and diametrically opposed to true Christianity at numerous major points.

Tim - We Catholics do NOT worship the Blessed Mother. We do not place her above Christ. And if that’s what you were taught, then your catechesis was wanting. And so was mine in my early years in Catholic education. Worship of Mary and placing her above God…in any way….is not what the Catholic Church teaches. An individual could mistakenly believe this in our own pews, yes, and I do understand why there is this possible impression or misinterpretation. But again what you state at the very beginning of this video is untruth. Now we all have bigger fish to fry as Christians, don’t we? As many human beings walking the Earth right now do not believe in Hell. Let’s bind together to quell that lie in order to save misguided souls who believe we need to “live for the day”….when in fact Eternity awaits us all. The charitable virtue to impact the salvation of souls will enable us to all become filled more with the Holy Spirit….a much-needed illumination these days for all of us to see God as He wants to be seen and worshipped. I do suggest revisiting the beautiful Magnificat which might provide greater understanding as to why many Catholics adore Mary….even more than our own birth mothers. Where would we be without Mary’s fiat?

Well, you are speaking your mind, but you are a bit off the mark concerning the Catholic faith. Lots of former Catholics who have left do not really understanding the Catholic faith. You admit you were a nominal Catholic. It must be understood that despite your understanding that the Catholic Church places Mary as important as her son Christ, the Catholic Church does no such thing. The Catholic faith places her as very important, but she is not divine. The Faith only says of her as Co-Redeemer that the "Co" means "cooperation, " not of equality. Hers was an extra-special cooperation giving her Fiat and Christ's body came from her body.

This is sad. All straw men have been burned here. If you take a very hard look at your version of the faith, it is ahistorical and unbiblical. But you have built up a castle made of inconsistencies, created by "Solas" taught nowhere in your own Bible that you claim to believe.
