Fifteen men on a dead man’s chest, yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum! The X marks the spot, so get your shovel ready and start digging. Money, gold and jewelry stashed away on some mysterious island usually means trouble. From the mists of time, when mythical gods and legendary heroes roamed the Earth, though the Middle Ages and even the last couple of centuries, we have records of great treasures that seem to have vanished, leaving behind only pies in the sky. Fascinating examples of opulence and decadence, the world knelt to their power and wept at their disappearance. They witnessed the rise and fall of civilizations, and now they are gone. Or are they?

The ancient tribes of Israel were called Israelites. Israelis are citizens of the modern post-1948 State of Israel.

Per #3, God himself did not build the Ark of the Covenant. He gave the plans to Moses and Moses commissioned Bezalel and Oholiab to construct it.

Blackbeard was a pirate. Pirates didn't bury or hide treasure. They spent it, and mostly looted practical things. In all liklihood there is no tresure and Blackbeard was just trolling in his last words. He was a pirate, after all.

The Ark of the Covenant is the most important artifact in Judaism. And when the Babylonians attacked Jerusalem, the Isrealites didn't flee, they were captured and taken back to Babylon.

“We can’t find the Knights Templar treasures”
“Weren’t they bankers?”
“Yeah?”
“Don’t banks loan cash to other people?”
“Yeah?”
“Can you not see where I’m going with this?”

I don't believe that anyone will ever find Blackbeard's treasure. It is thought that either he hid it so well that it will never be found or that someone found it not too long after the sinking of the Queen Anne. They say that Blackbeard had a trusted silversmith friend that he told of its whereabouts. If that is true then he would more than likely went after it not long after Blackbeard's death. It's a cool story to research.

The Amber room has been rebuilt in Russia. Catherine the Great's summer home housed it in the past, however, Germany destroyed the palace. However, they have reconstructed the palace as well as the Amber room. I've seen it, it's very beautiful.

I have some suggestions for you. With Christmas coming up, I thought it would be fun to do some TopTenz about different aspects of the holiday season. For example, Christmas songs and their origins, Christmas traditions in different countries, ornaments, stockings, Christmas dinner dishes, cookies, the massive marketing by retailers, odd decorations and their meaning (pickle ornament, leg lamp, etc), Christmas light displays. Heck you could do a 12 days of Christmas about Christmas! Just a thought. Love the channel! :-)

Many archeologists say that once Egyptian pharaoh died and was buried in a tomb, the next one raided it for the treasures for their own tombs, explaining the many lack of treasure in one, but not another....

Ah, the Templar treasure myth... It was assets not actual money. Of course I have no proof of this but consider the amount of money it takes to maintain a castle. (Millions in equivalent money) Then consider they had many scattered over Europe and the Holy Lands. Yes, these European castles generate some income but that is used for upkeep and the rest is sent to maintain the castles in the Holy Lands because they can't support themselves. Then you have the people of the order themselves to maintain, I'm sure you can see where this is going. If you are still unsure what I mean, imagine you win/inherit/somehow gain a mansion worth 1 million dollars. Congratulations, you now have an asset worth 1 million dollars but you have to maintain it and it won't buy you food or pay it's own power bills.

I can't believe you didn't include the 12 billion in cash that America misplaced in Iraq.

Are you pronouncing King Tut's name correctly? 'Cause this is the first time I've ever heard it said that way.

Just curious. Did your title and lead-in mean "Lost in the MIDST of time", the proper phrasing of what you're hinting at?

The Amber Room I think would be the most important find from this list, bur sadly is the most likely to be simply destroyed. The Ark or the Grail would obviously be more significant, but we don't really know if they are more than myths.
