I feel like this device will really help clear my backlog of games. Looking forward to picking one up. As a Dad of 3 small children, having access to my PS5 anywhere in the house with a dedicated device & dual sense controls is very appealing.

One thing they should have incorporated should be swappable sticks like on the Dualsense Edge, because if you get stick drift on the portal you're basically screwed.

INCORRECT Ckid! I have the Playstation 5 backbone. And as long as my console is in rest mode, I can literally wake it up using remote play from anywhere in the world.

The lack of Bluetooth is a big blow.
Unless you shell out another £200 on top of the Portal, you can’t use a headset/earbuds with this thing. Sure, you can plug in a wired headset via AUX, but I’d bet any money that the vast majority of people initially interested in this, were hoping they’d be able to just simply connect their existing wireless headsets and/or earbuds.

I got to correct u when you said no other device can wake up the ps5, thats incorrect, if the ps5 is in rest mode u can wake it with remote play, no need to interact directly with the ps5

I've been using my phone with a backbone to remote play for years so for me the cost doesn't justify a slightly better experience. Also any device can wake up and connect to a PS5 from anywhere. The portal might streamline this feature, but you make it sounds like you have to go to the other room to turn the system on first which is not the case.

As a father with a home wife and 2 kids 1 and 3yo this is perfect for me, I can play while paw patrols playing on the tv 😂

We give you audio jack but take away Bluetooth and use the standard 2, 4Ghz connection but with a new forced protocol, so you need to buy our own 200$ headphones for a 200$ streaming only devise that can't use our own game streaming service and requires a PS5

They could've at least made it 4k quality, it's only 1080p quality. Also, they should have made it to where you could access your games via the cloud, so that you could take it anywhere in the world, instead of just your home 🤷🏾‍♂️, I mean IJS.

I do sleep shifts at work, this is a definite purchase for when I'm at work, not to mention when the kids want to game while want to watch a movie. There's always a use for this

Let's just agree to disagree... Majority of the ps5 owners are on a tight budget, no one in their right mind would pay $200 for just a display attached to a controller.
In a world of handheld gaming where switch, steam deck and other standalones exist, this makes no sense
