Yes, there is another reason to run it this way, I am using a stepper motor as part of a Linear actuator on rails as part of an assembly process where I only need to control the forward and reverse movements using limit switches, reversing power switches and PWM DC speed controllers. This is to have a platen delivered forward for the cutting operation and then retracted to home position. In situations where there is the same repetitive actions as in an assembly fixture, this is something I am looking into doing.

Hi There, very useful video, rather the only one of its kind on youtube, the third reason is you don't want to use the Arduino to control the driver and the use of stepper motor is to get low rpm high torque output, which similar DC or even geared DC don't provide, (normally I would say). But I need help, can't run my geared stepper motor 28BYJ-48 5VDC it has 5 wires and four of them as same oms. please advise the connections for this specific model. and I need minimum rpm if you need change the value of few components.
