Some of them are abandoned vanity projects surrounded by stagnant, mosquito filled waters.

Most of the islands are abandoned. The water gets trapped in them and has become stagnant. They are apparently a terrible place to be

If you take a tour there, your guide will tell you that those islands are sinking and that the houses are constantly getting new cracks appearing

They are like “my bad” here is a tourism center with a snack bar. Would you like to rent a Lamborghini to take you? Maybe a fast Cigarette boat ride? Helicopter ride? 😂😅

Only Palm Island has any buildings on it and that has its problems. All the other projects have run out of money as the Dubai housing bubble burst.
