The office of the Director of National Intelligence has finally released a report on what the government knows about unidentified flying objects, but the question remains: is there extraterrestrial life out there? In the latest episode of The Point, CNN’s Chris Cillizza examines everything released in the 9-page report.

What surprised you about the findings in the UFO report? -Chris

I hope there intelligent life on other planets, as there isn't a lot down here

When I was in the Army, we had Aircraft Recognition Playing Cards to help us better identify those flying objects. So in that sense, the government has always known about UFOs.

The ONLY reason extra-terrestrial intelligence might ever want to visit us is due to a singular trait that we actually share with alien species: Slow down and gawk when passing an accident.

If this was human made craft then the US Gov't would not be investing heavily into hydrogen propulsion and other forms of combustion fuel propellant. As a research engineer in that field, I am almost certain these craft are not human made.

I think the saddest thing about this release are the thousands of people who truly saw something and reported it to local officials and the government only to be told they where over reacting and where imagining what they saw. A lot of people passed away ridiculed and treated as crazy. And the biggest insult is that the report we got was BS they released 5% at most of what they know.

At 6:02 an alien pops up on the left of the screen but he disguised it with a "Hi Dad" bubble to throw us off.

I think its a mechanism to psychologically shake any potential adversaries. When he battle field gets muddy, making it impossible for your adversary to know if reinforcements are coming gives you an edge. "Maybe our friends will show up and maybe they won't", makes any General consider contingencies, and every contingency requires you to partition your resources for marshaling when the moment comes, thus forcing a divide in your strategy unless you commit completely to one course of action. Plenty of cases where a clever General defeated a weaker General with the same strategy.
