You are definitely not alone. We are Sisters in a unique way. I also have some invisible and visible illnesses, but also have had ports for over ten years. The cool thing is that I was trained years and years ago to safely and in a sterile way at home to be able to use my port for treatments. There are some of my treatments where I need to be in the hospital. You are strong girlfriend. Love and hugs from Florida!

When checking vitals (especially pulse), I sometimes get asked if I’m checking to see if I’m still alive. I still don’t know how to respond in a funny way. I just say it’s for medical reasons.

At this point (as I haven’t personally experienced not being believed when I tell people about being autistic) I’m wondering what people think disability is? Like do they think that all disabled people just have some kind of obvious physical disfigurement unless they’re literally in a wheelchair 7 days a week? Like omg how can you have a condition your skin is so smooth type beat
