Not every TV show sticks the landing, but these finales definitely impressed us. For this list, we’ll be looking at shows that went out on the highest notes possible in the 21st century. While a few of these shows technically premiered in the 90s, all that matters is that they ended the following century. Since we’re talking about endings, spoilers are unavoidable. Avatar: the last air bender literally had me emotional for it’s season final run as a kid. It’s very different than any other Nickelodeon show that really paved the way for all generations of its popular series.

Sozin’s Comet had it all. Heart pounding action, beautiful animation, and seeing three years worth of storytelling culminating in the heroes emerging victorious. I am so glad Avatar was a part of my childhood

Man, I was really hoping that The Good Place would make the list. That finale was perfect in my book and not only was it heartwarming and summed up each character’s journey perfectly, it made me cry more than I thought it would.

Great pilot episode, each season was better than the previous, and the finale was a perfect send off

I think The Good Place deserves a spot on this list. It was emotional, heartfelt, and hilarious like all the other episodes. The series had a definitive end that left you feeling sad but also good about the world and future? I can’t think of another finale that made me feel differently about my actual life.

Mr Robot should have been here. Everything from the excellent final plot twist, to the way in which the show satisfyingly closed off its main storylines, the finale delivered an excellent conclusion to the fantastic TV show.

Monk: Adrian finally figuring out who killed Trudy after everything he went through over 8 Seasons & discovering he's got a niece was a great ending to that series.

You know that Avatar: The Last Airbender was a well written show and had an amazing ending when it’s not only the only cartoon on this list, being in the top 3, but that it’s on a list that consists entirely of adult shows. It shows the commitment and hard work that went into it.

Person of Interest: had an epic Series Finale, with Reese & Root's sacrifice, taking down The CPU God Samaritan, & the possibility of others working for The Machine protecting others from the shadows.
