Why are there no instructions anywhere for tri-fold doors? The track for my tri-fold doors only goes halfway across, so they don't work the same or both of my tri-fold doors came with wrong hardware?

I bought the 24 x 80 bifold door, but after I tried to install it realized that the width of the frame is only 23 1/2 inches wide. Is it possible to somehow still be able to install the same 24 X 80 door into that space? (23 1/2 Inches.)

I think I'm going to need a man to do this? Probably too heavy for me! I'm still not wild about it because it's not dust proof and pet hair it's got to much of a space on the top! I'm thinking about a curtain since I'm in an apartment and I can tell they didn't know what they were doing when they built these apartments!
