Blizzard does not know how to make a Diablo game or an ARPG. Blizzard North did. The teams that made Warcraft and Starcraft are no longer there. The teams that made WoW and the more popular expansions for it are mostly not there. It's like a parasite inside of a rotten zombie body driving it around. Soulless and directionless. They take scraps of good ideas that were never fully finished, stitch them together and call it a game.

Devs before D4: we understand that D3 had excessive legendary drops that made them feel less important than they should and that power creep was a problem so in D4 we plan to make loot matter

Yeah this has gotten completely ridiculous. I just wait until I have 4-5 bags to open and click them all at the same time because I know I'm not going anywhere for a while. There's ZERO benefit to having 30 separate stacks of iron chunks, gold, and other materials other than being obnoxious.

I've always disliked the whole loot pinata vibe. I prefer diablo 2 style drops

There's a reason why this happens, psychologically, the average player is addicted to a lot of drops, So blizzard in their infinite wisdom decided that instead of giving you mats all at once, they drop the mats from cache's in increments of 10 or 25, instead of 25k. It makes it seem like a lot is dropping but, its not. It's psychologically tweaked this way to keep the player thinking a lot of good materials has dropped.
