When I first got FXDL I just had to take it all my old riding places. Took it to a steep street of cobblestone and opened the throttle. The thing just ripped straight up that street like it was nothing. I stopped at the top and looked back down with a smile on my face. Next was the crookedest street, and not Lombard. Went down it no problem at all. Twisties, no problems. Had Progressive heavy rear shocks, front progressive heavy springs, performance tube oil, EV46 cam, modified CV carb, and cycle shack boloney cut piped. Now has 200K miles on it. Rebuilt it with a 93 inch D&S kit and engine block, with Thunder headers, and gave it to my daughter. It will probably go another 30 plus years. Fuel gauge? Had a leak and couldn't put it back on. So I took it off. Never had one on a Harley, and go by speedo.

The Dyna Low Rider has been a great middle weight cruiser for decades. It cruises, bar hops, and tours with great capability without the added weight or cost of a touring bike. When they axed the Dyna they brought the Low Rider into the soft tail lineup and everyone I knew who rode it was seriously impressed with the new chassis and new mono shock rear suspension. You basically get a Miles crushing Dyna without the old Dyna wobble. It’s a great bike either configuration. Enjoy it. 👍

Im a Harley tech, and a piece of advice, get a “Predator” front motor mount . It will make a WORLD of difference in the way it handles, feels like its glued to the road excellent mount to replace the poorly designed stock Harley mount..

Happy to see you upgraded to the dyna! Keep an ear out for the inevitable compensator dying, its a notorious issue on the early years of the 96ci dynas. I just changed mine in my 08 low rider

I have been blessed to own a number of bikes over my 55 years of riding, from pretty much every category. The only one I have kept is my 2006 Dyna Superglide. For me, it feels like everything a motorcycle should be an I always grin like a kid when I ride it!

I've had one for 7 years - been all over the country with it. I kept mine more classic vs the "dyna bro" look which never appealed to me.

Awesome bike and its served me well. Upgrade the suspension (and get a stabilizer/ sputhe positrac) and then make it your own.

I just bought a 99 FXDX that was really well taken care of, it has a ton of upgrades like suspension, brakes and cam bearings, tensioners, etc.. I really enjoy it. Its an 88 tc. its a lot of fun. My previous bike was a 22 Lowrider s and I ended up totaling it and got messed up pretty bad, but after 5 months of recovery I am back on a bike! Love your videos! Coming from the LRS softail to the Dyna, I am loving it!

I've has many bikes, but my 2004 FXDL with the 88 and 5 speed I'm keeping forever, its just a fun bike to ride. I rode that thing for about 10 years with no windshield.

I bought an '03 Dyna because I wanted a 100th Anniversary bike. I have to say... I really enjoy it. I still have my touring bike, but that Dyna is fun.

Good review of the bike. I just bought a Fat Bob and your observations are spot on I think. Honestly, I might look for a Low Rider because I prefer the bars and instruments on your bike over mine, but even though it's a little heavy, it is a fun bike to ride. Thanks...

Cool video, i own a 06 fxdli and it’s so much fun to ride, the hardest part about customizing is the wild selection of gear for these bikes. So many ideas stay safe girl and ride that beauty.
