Hello everyone! Welcome back to Fast Lane TV. This video is about " BEST HARLEY FOR YOUR 1ST HARLEY & ONES TO STAY AWAY FROM ".

Excited to get on the road and feel the air in your face as you make your way through traffic on your very first bike? Sounds exhilarating doesn't it? Well, it very much is, but the problem is that not every bike is suited for beginners and there are some things that you need to look out for.
Well. Harley-Davidson is an iconic American motorcycle manufacturer that has been around for more than a century. We can help you choose the perfect Harley for your next adventure, whether it's a ride along the strip or up into the mountains. Choosing the best bike for your riding style and demands is crucial.

Here's what we recommend first: a trial run. Find out what it's like to ride a new bike before you buy it if you're serious about making a purchase. You'll learn things that can't be taught simply by reading about or observing other riders in action. That's why it's crucial that you go for as many trials runs as you need before making a final decision.

Plus, you need to consider some other factors as well, these include things like size and power. Larger motorcycles, in general, have more power and torque, making them faster off the starting line (and requiring bigger gas tanks). Smaller motorcycles, on the other hand, have the reverse characteristics: they are cheaper and easier to ride, but they lack the power and range of their larger counterparts. Not all riders place the highest value on raw horsepower, but for some, it's the only thing that matters. So if you are a newbie we recommend you go for the ones which have less raw power.

Next up is the price point. Harley-Davidson boasts a wide selection of motorcycles, from the expensive Softail to the affordable Sportster. You may narrow down your search for the perfect bicycle by exploring the many available variations on each model
But there must be some bikes that are better than others. Well, let us tell you about them. The first option is the Harley Davidson Street 500 or even the Street 750. The Street series was created with novice riders in mind, unlike the majority of the other bikes that we are about to tell you about.  In particular, the Street 500 is Harley's response to bikes like the Rebel, which are entry-level cruisers designed to be economical and user-friendly even if you're still getting the hang of mastering the throttle.

They just recommended at Street 500 over an Iron 883. Anyone who makes it to these comments, please disregard this entire video. Whoever makes the videos on this channel are absolutely clueless.

My Sportster 1200 with a 4.5 gallon tank is a top heavy pig. I really wouldn't recommend it for a first bike but then again, it's cooler than a lot of bikes. lol

I started on a 1200 sportster at 16 and was easy as hell lol

Oops narrator says front breaks provide a fraction of the stopping power compared to rear breaks. Doooonnnt think that is correct my friend.

I can’t afford a big bike but my 2004 sportster is nice I love it.

Bought my Dyna Wide Glide when I was 23, the biggest issues I had was manouvering it in reverse with my feet pushing a monster, the braking it was another one but my bike is forever

You can get a Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki or Honda from 650cc-1700cc for $3000 or less.

Regardless you're gonna have to learn that bike you purchased. I myself started with the Harley Davidson Ride Academy, which definitely helped and was worth it, in my opinion, as new rider

The narrator advises against covering the front brake while riding because that contributes to panic stopping. This is contrary to what is taught by the MSF.

I suggest looking for a really good deal on a used Harley of your liking, learn to ride on it (le$$ painful learning bumps) and then trade it in for your dream bike. You can start on anything, I learned to ride on a road King and it was super easy. Of course there will be obstacles but riding a motorcycle is learned by training sessions and practice, most of which you can now a-days learn on your own by watching you tube. Having said all that, If you are really tall you will have difficulty riding small frame bikes and it will hamper your learning, the same can be said for the reverse.

Buy a used imperfect 883 lol, perfect starter bike. I started on a rebel 300 and the jump was basically nothing.

I never road a bike started on an 883 and two months later traded in for a Harley Wide Glide. You will want a bigger faster bike quickly.

I'm still starting out, but I've been told by multiple reliable sources that an Iron 883 is a great beginner bike. Confirmed by riders I know who own Irons, plus my friend's dad who sold Harley bikes out of our local dealership for over 9 years.

Harley has gone down hill. Their heyday was 90’s to 2010’s. Quality and build have gone down tremendously IMO. 2006 Fatboy here

I started on an 883 with stage 3 screaming eagle upgrades. Great beginner bike. Got bored with it quick. I couldn't imagine spending hard earned money on something less than.

I learned on a Fat boy when they 1st came out and have zero regrets. Get the bike you want and ride it. Now is the best time ever to buy a used Harley because the market is saturated with low-mileage bike that people bought due to the 2000's biker crazy. I just bought a Night-Rod with under 2000 miles for $6k. Like I said, get the bike you want and ride it.

Started with a 2001 fatboy, went on with a 2011 roadking, later had a GSA.... Now i settle down with a Sporty 1200 and i love it most 😊

Harley Davidson doesn't make a high quality motorcycle, but Honda does, the 2024 Honda gold wing is infact the highest quality motorcycle ever manufactured. Who wants to pay $30, 000 for something that requires more maintenance than road time. Not me, I don't consider a Harley Davidson a real motorcycle at all, the Honda gold wing is a real motorcycle. It only requires basic maintenance, it is also the highest quality motorcycle ever manufactured.

A friend of mine had a 80s fatboy, the first of the evolution motors, he said it was so much better made than the newer ones, as they made them with thicker engine castings etc
