I've started to use superglue + baking soda for gap filling. It's a great accelerator and it forms a really tough bond, especially if you do things in layers. It's been really useful for working on my metal models. It can even be sanded smooth! I'll have to try the putty + superglue method to compare.

I have repaired several gargoyles myself, mostly with suitable bitz from my bitz collection.
Unfortunately, I can't model at all, so I use bitz.

Stone gargoyles always look better than the usual ersatz balrog.

I converted mine with the whip-chain from the _Bloodthirster_ kit, and the sword with a bonesabre from _The Swarmlord..._ looks way cooler. 🤓
