Whitby Goth Weekend October 2023 Full Walking Tour | [4K]

We went to Whitby on goth weekend this year and made a full walking tour of it. You will love this video and please watch till end as it is full of surprises.

Whitby Goth Weekend is an alternative music festival held in Whitby. The event consists of two nights of live bands, and three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) of alternative trade stalls at the Whitby Leisure Centre, and Whitby Brunswick Centre.

The term "Whitby Goth Weekend" is sometimes used as a generic term to describe events during the week in Whitby as a whole, although the name of the event and its associated logo are registered trademarks of Jo Hampshire of Top Mum Promotions. Thanks for sharing I was born in the Northeast and love Whitby. Walked up to the Abbey hundreds of times and I miss Haddock and chips with proper vinegar so much.

Whitby is my favourite place ..but I couldn’t cope with the crowds ..think I’ll give goth weekend a miss

Holy smokes! I would quickly become unsettled and aggravated in the midst of such a pressing crowd. I like open space.

What I found very agreeable was the fact that no one (or very near to no one) was smoking. (I did see one woman appearing to vape.) Was there some ordinance in effect for the event, or is it indeed the case that smoking is becoming a rarity?

If this was, say, in the 1970s, the air would be thick and hazy for all the burning tobacco. I grew up in that world, and despised it.

I disliked Whitby and the Goths; the place I found wet and the people rude. They had the fine qualities which bore me – thrift and industry and long-faced holiness, and the young women are mostly great genteel boisterous things who are no doubt bedworthy enough if your taste runs that way. (One acquaintance of mine who had a Goths clergyman’s daughter described it as like wrestling with a sergeant of dragoons.) The men I found solemn, hostile, and greedy, and they found me insolent, arrogant, and smart.
