Ford GT40 MK2 LOUD Exhaust Sound on Track!

I have filmed not one, but three (!) different and completely original Ford GT 40 MKII in action at Imola. The video shows the incredible sound of this american legend with a series of high speed fly bys, fast accelerations, loud revs and also a few flames popping out the straight exhaust!

These GT40's are MK1's, and they sound so sweet!

However, with 100% certainty I can tell you that these are all MKI cars. Especially the one with the engine shot - that's clearly a small block Ford V8 engine. The MKII cars had the big block 427 CID V8 only. Dead giveaway on the visual cues is the MKII had 2 stacked vents on the side instead of the single vent per side of the MKI. The rear body work was wider on the MKIIs as well.

That is what a real car sounds like! There is a Shelby museum here that is the only place you can see all the different versions of the gt40. Including a street car and the Steve McQueen gulf gt40 mirage

We have to original motor to this believe it or not! yes p-1027, We have the valve covers to prove it! breather caps are painted flat black over the chrome for when they were filming the movie gran prix with p-1027. If any one would like to see photos of the valve covers let me know. the motor is currently in a 1965 fastback. motor being pulled out of the gt40 is documented on gt40 archives
