This morning on 6/14/2020, my grandfather Joesph S. Hennessey passed away. He was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborn, recipient of a Purple Heart, along with other medals, and I’m proud to say my grandfather was a war hero. He and my grandmother were married for 72 years, and ironically it is her birthday today. She refused to put him in a nursing home, and took care of him until the day he died. Rest In Peace Poppy.

My grandpa was a screaming Eagle!! Those men till their dying day stayed in contact. They had a bond not you or bond I’ve never had. Proud group of men! Thank you for posting this!

I was lucky enough to meet (through WWII 101st Airborne historian and author Mark Bando) and speak with Don Burgett, A/506th P.I.R. Germany veteran and author of four books on his WWII experiences. Unforgettable. R.I.P. Don Burgett.

Thanks to 101 liberation in our area started on Sep 17th 1944. Wonderful to see this...but sad too. To see these young guys sacrificing themselves. Currently in the middle of all commemoration activities in Eindhoven area.

I was a 2nd Sergeant in the Brazilian Army and am currently in the reserve. Since watching the series *Band of Brothers*, my respect for this army has grown each day.
