Whole Lotta running involved in any survival mode playthrough. Makes me wish there was a slider option in vanilla opposed to me having to download mods.

That's why I love playing the Horizon overhaul mod. You start with no fast travel and by gaining settlements and recruiting at least 3 people in those settlements you can place down a station to fast travel between your settlements. It's a "quality of life" that doesn't break immersion so much and I love it. Makes the game way more replayable having Horizon installed

This is why I love the Underground Railroad mod. You get a safe player home, AND 9 spots that you can (sort of) fast travel to! And you can even skip the search for the manholes, by just reaching through the gap in each gate to access the chains!

Rule one of survival in FO4. Get two mods. Either reenable autosaves or get a quick save anytime mod (the game fucking crashes so often it's impossible without). And then get a fast travel travel purely as an optional thing because it can take you ages to go anywhere, and if you get stuck? Yeah, better off teleporting nearby than reloading a save.

This was actually something I enjoyed when I had patience for survival mode. I liked going from diamond city to the theater, then to hangman's, then to diamond city, then wherever I needed to go. It made me actually feel like I have traveling the road and sometimes even travelled along the supply caravan because why not. Fast travelling just took the magic out of it.

My last Survival mode run made me realize the Institute fast-travel cuts some travel times by a decent amount. Being friends with them just for that option for as long as possible is a pretty good idea (Shaun? Who's Shaun? I'm just in it for the Pip-boy upgrade).

In the survival playthrough i would get all the armors that increased movement speed by 40% and teleport to the institute to save time.

I just wanna point out: they actually rotoscoped Aragorn's actor tripping over his own sword. They could have just reshot it, or they could have cut that part out, but no. They actually animated it.
