I was starting to pick up on the pattern last year when my oddly shaped raft had certain points attacked and other ones not at all. When I started selectively reinforcing the parts he attacked the most, I eventually realized he didnt just focus parts jutting out, but ignored ones near the jutting sections.

Running into this advice still helped me find the most efficient setup however, as well as how to better adapt it for weird shapes beyond just a square.

Did a playthrough with a friend. We had a raft of like 500 foundations. We reinforced every single one.

I bought raft YEARS ago and played it a few times, I don’t think I ever got as far as to kill something though

I like to keep my raft small (2x2 or 3x3) in the beginning, and then reinforce all sides ASAP - after the first or second island if possible (it takes fewer resources to reinforce a small raft). That way I don’t have to worry about the shark unless I’m swimming, and I don’t use extra wood repairing the raft so I can use all of my wood for smelting, cooking, etc. Even if the raft is small, since it’s reinforced I can use the full foundation, placing items on the edge or even hanging them off the edge. So it ends up being plenty of space early on, and when I have time I can always expand it.

I remember, that I just ignored the shark. It was the easiest way, to just fight him off, when he attacks and then doing all the stuff I needed

I'm pretty sure, that with the spiky raft design, the inner edges have a <1% chance to be attacked

Does not work, yes shark attractive to corners. 100%. After I did 360 armor shark started to attack inside pieces. Glitch?

I just make my raft out of triangles to prevent Bruce from destroying to much

No shit I used like 40 ingots to secure my raft when I could use just a bunch

I tried this, but the shark attacked inner parts of the raft. I ended up having to armor the entire bottom floor of the raft. One the whole bottom floor was armored, the shark attacks stopped completely.
