For those who don't know, Rifleman Badluram died during the Japan war, but the quartermaster then didn't strike off his name from the ration rooster, as a result, the company survived on his ration when their's ran out while they were under a seige from Japanese troops. Hence the song, to honour the soldier who served the army even beyond martydom.
