"What is you're favorite movie? I keep on forgetting to ask you asking since I found you on Zach Poppes channel".

I can offer "Shallow Grave", "Spoorloos", "THX 1138", "Legend", "Tron", "Punch Drunk Love", "5 to 7", "Lord of the Flies"... I have over 6500 titles cataloged in my collection.
But when someone asks me that question I get a feeling like I can't give an honest answer. On reflection this is what I come up with.

Asking someone's favorite movie...
looking for insight?
Maybe just the screw, that holds it all together?

Some piece of mind, a penny, something enriching or just spare change.
A moment alone out of context.
What does it mean?
Who you were and who are...
What you believed was tested and broken.
You were taught absolute truths, your faith betrayed,
lies are all you know when perception is reality.
Believing you're no longer naive and innocent?
You put it together the best you could?
So, what's your favorite thing?
When you're hungry it's food.
When you're lonely it's a friend.
When you're bored it's a thrill.
When you're vulnerable it's your ego.
Living vicariously someone's story.
Like a waking dream.
Would you want to live there forever?
Your one favorite thing?

The most meaningful film for me is still "The Never Ending Story". Revisiting it as an adult I understand the messages through the prism of my memories.
It's about courage, imagination, human potential and everything that's in opposition.
The darkness that depresses you, the limits imposed and the control that's meant to enslave you.
