Ten years ago the first flight of the super-maneuverable Su-35 fighter took place. On the history of creation, combat potential and why this aircraft is often compared with foreign analogues.
February 19, 2008 in the sky for the first time the Russian multi-role fighter generation "4 ++" Su-35. The plane was piloted by the deserved test pilot of the Russian Federation, the Hero of Russia Sergey Bogdan.

"Thirty-fifth" was a deep modernization of the Su-27 fighter aircraft with a view to significantly increasing the effectiveness of combat use for air, land and sea targets. As noted by the developers, in the design of the Su-35 were applied the most successful technical solutions, previously worked on the Su-27 and Su-30.
When creating the Su-35, they retreated from the aerodynamic scheme with the front horizontal plumage (as in the Su-33 and Su-30MK) and returned to the classical (Su-27).
The design of the glider is strengthened, which allowed to increase the maximum take-off weight of the car. This made it possible to significantly increase the fuel reserve (in the inner tanks the Su-35 carries 11.3 tons against 9.4 at the Su-27).
In addition, the fighter can use suspended fuel tanks of 2000 liters each. The combat load remained the same as on the Su-27 - eight tons. The number of suspension nodes for fastening high-precision missiles and aerial bombs increased from 10 to 12. Two more - to accommodate EW containers.
The length of the aircraft is 21.9 m, the wingspan is 14.75 m, the height is 5.9 m. The maximum takeoff weight is 34 500 kg, the maximum speed is 2500 km / h, the maximum flight range without hanging fuel tanks (PTB) 3600 km, with the PTB - 4,500 km. The practical ceiling is 20 thousand meters. The manufacturer's designated life of the aircraft is 6 thousand hours or 30 years, the life of the engine is 4 thousand hours.
