Ukraine war: Reports suggest Russia shot down one of its own fighter jets

There are widespread reports that Russia has lost another of its SU-35 FLANKER multi-role fighter jets near the frontline around Tokmak in occupied Ukraine.

Ukrainian sources claim they shot down the Russian fighter using S300 surface-to-air missiles.

Military analyst Sean Bell has more.

I expect Sean Bell is right. In 'ground' warfare re-entry into friendly lines after completing a mission is considered one of the most hazardous phases - I can imagine when unreliable/poorly trained personnel are manning air defense systems, incidents like this are bound to happen.

Those particular Russian Pilots were trained on vertical landing and take off aircraft. They probably thought that SU - 35 could land straight down. Boy, they were wrong.
