Way back in 1990, Russian govt and aircraft makers along with their Sukhois and Migs hosted an airshow here in Manila, Philippines. Man, that afternoon, I skip a couple of subjects in school to make it on time for their flight demo.
And YES, just as I was expecting, overwhelmed, impressed and since then I fell in love with the SUs. Also with some Flanker models as well... Big Fan Here! Spaisiva Russians for showing us your air superiority! Your planes are very impressive, specially in acrobatic manouvers. Some makers that came and show before and after the russians, here, never I see the type of maneouvers that you guys have.. only simple and common moves others do...

Too bad, Philippines cannot afford to purchase Sukhoi or Migs at this time. I guess Ph govt will be ordering some Saab Grippen instead. Should be good as well... anyway, they call it, "the smart fighter". Dasvidanya!

As an American. All of the maneuvers look absolutely impossible. The engineering of that jet is amazing. Never underestimate your opponent. You have to give credit where credit is due. It was built to dogfight. It has a superb radar, IRST(infrared search and track sensor), 3D thrust vectoring engines and good pilots. Europeans and Americans tested the X 31 and it was a damn good plane. They did not put thrust vectoring into none of their fighter jets. The Russians did and now they are the kings of thrust vectoring.
