Should you Learn PHP or C++ ... in 2018?

Thank you for solidifying my decision of PHP. I started learning it when I was about 15 years old (I'm 27 now) and I thought maybe I made a mistake. Thank goodness I didn't!!! I love PHP and it's evolving so much like with things like PDO, etc - which is why I was investigating switching as I'll need to learn the new stuff

But thanks for helping me feel better :) I'm gonna stick to PHP for now :)

I started with, COBOL, BASIC, DBASE, CLIPPER... the fact is, I never actually did a commercial system under any of those languages, yes I did a few MS-DOS app's for a few local companies, not big worth talk about, the thing is that I had to drop programing because there was no market for what I knew back then in my town, it was that bad, just so you can have an idea, Internet was just a rumor in my town, while in the US, websites where the thing!, so moved to the US in 00, in 02 I learned html, css, then javaScript... over the years I taught myself, ruby on rails, Python and PHP, a few frameworks such as, ionic, Zend, Laravel, Angular... for me, PHP has been a big success until recent years, more and more guys know PHP, I used to charge 1K or so for a website but now, there is a huge line of guys willing to do it for a fraction of that... So, next year(2018) I'm going Python full throttle.

I imagine that the life as a C++ developer is more steady compared to a web developer in terms of not having to learn new frameworks (especially as a front end dev) all the time. Or am I wrong?

Hey Stefan, can you explain different licenses a developer can/should code with? There seems to be a lot of different choices: MIT's license, the GNU public license, and many others. When should one want one over the others?
