We've just witnessed the birth of a super villain.

I was this kid. Living in Thailand back in 2013, just five years ago, I was super broke. I lived in an apartment for 4, 500 baht which is $125 a month with just window overlooking a construction site. But I was determined and saved up every dollar I made, even when I started making more money, I wouldn't buy anything. I'd go to the store every day just to stare at the gold watch I wanted to buy. My girlfriend at the time thought I was crazy, especially since the watch itself was only $200 and I had it. But my goal wasn't to save up $200, buy the watch, then have zero...it was to go from $200 to having $30, 000 in the bank, which I could later invest and have that money grow for me and continue to earn money.

Years later, I started the Invest Like a Boss podcast with my buddy Sam Marks. But watching this commercial really brings me back to those days of staring into the shop glass window.

That is the point when you walk into the shop and tell the shop keeper that you want to buy the telescope for $2, 000. When he says that the price is $3, 500 you tell him that you know that telescope has been in his shop window for a year with no one buying it and that your offer of $1, 900 is a good one... When he points out that you had originally offered $2, 000 just let him know that the telescope is costing him more money sitting in the window and that $1, 850 is a very fair price.

I'm sure he'd work a deal with you.

I was actually expecting for some twist. Like the scope is no longer can be seen. and the kid is so disappointed. He'll ask the owner and the owner will tell him that the scope is no longer available as it was being sold. then the kid step out the store and he'll be surprise that the one who bought the scope is the owner itself. And he'll give it to the kid. Out of the kid curiousity that the owner has been seeing him everyday looking at his item.
