I don't think anyone will disagree that Lewis, Seb and Fernando are three of the greatest drivers to ever do it. Regardless of who is your favourite. They all made magic out of every car they were given.

Bottas is harsh. He did finish it p4 in a decent Williams car in 2014 beating current world champion Vettel and beat Massa three years in a row while at Williams .

I understand your logic with the omission of Bottas but I do feel like you're overlooking Bottas's 2014-16 run. That combined with the merc years, even if mediocre, should land him in the top 10.

I'd put Bottas in place of Sainz just because of his great Williams stint.
However I agree that he was disappointing in that dominant Merc.

I've always thought that Perez was unfairly dropped by McLaren after 2013, neither he, nor Button could have done much more in a car where McLaren shot itself in both feet technically, by trying to radically change the aero concept despite having the fastest car on average in 2012, thus outsmarting themselves.

Fortunately, he gave Ron Dennis the middle finger by getting more podiums by himself at Force India and Racing Point than McLaren did with any drivers in the time between 2014-20

People usually tend to forget Bottas's Williams years. Also he wasn't that bad in Mercedes as people make it to be.

Yes I agree Bottas definitely should be above Sainz given his stint at Williams. I think that's been forgotten about in this episode. But great content as ever Josh! Just wish there was more published more often

Lewis's lap in Singapore was THE one for me. It was really intense and my heart was pounding at how close he was to the walls. Just an amazing driver overall.

Sainz over Bottas is a stretch, am I the only who thinks that Sainz went from being incredibly underrated to just slightly overrated?

I'd say it's a bit of recency bias for Sainz. Bottas and Leclerc were a bit better imho, yes, Leclerc only had 2 seasons but what a seasons they were, and Bottas in 2014-2016 was probably the most impressive driver outside of Merc, Ferrari and Ricciardo

Vettel did wonders with the early ferrari's from 2015-2017 until ferrari decided to melt into "just engine no downforce" team.
I still don't believe how he managed to lead the title in 2017 with that disastrous straight line speed from ferrari.

I love Carlos but Botas had a better run outside of Merc than rather Carlos before McLaren. I respect your list nonetheless
