When we were kids, my mom rented this for us. On an average day, you could find 15 (maybe 7 or 8, but it seemed like about 15 at times) neighborhood kids in our living room watching it. My dad recorded it for us and we watched it so many times the tape damn near split. This was about three summers worth. We played the video game on Nintendo, The Goonies 2 until the console was flaming hot to the touch. We spoke in Goonies to each other on a daily. And of course we were crazy about Kerri Green. So funny when Mikey calls Brand "Josh" by accident and it was left in the movie. Damn what a time to be an 80s kid. We all wanted to be on a hunt just like them.

The main character is Sam from Lord of the Rings. His older brother is Thanos. And yes, Data is Short round and the theme song is Cindy Lauper.

This was my actual childhood in the 80s. Go to school, come home and immediateky hop on the bike and head to a friends house to meet up with like 4 other kids, and we'd all ride our bikes like 5 or more mikes away and so some crazy adventure shit . The. We be home when the street lights came on 😂 i have been sharing this movie with my son since he was 2 and he's 13 now and we still watch it together all the time. Its a timeless classic and it should be protected at all costs for generations to come

FUN FACT: When the kids went down the slide.. then landed in the water with the ship... Well.. when you see them turn around to see the ship.. that is their REAL reaction.. they didn't see it until the director said action.. cause they wanted an authentic reaction from all of them! So their reactions are VERY REAL!! :)

Fun Fact: Ke Huy Quan (Data) portrays the husband in Everything Everywhere All At Once. His return to the big screen was the most memorable thing ever 😊

my favorite movie OF ALL TIME!!!! Goondocks for life!!!🖤💀 no adventure movie on earth can compare. I'm 39 but still watch this movie at least once a month with my kids. The dude who plays Data (Ke Huy Quan) just won an Oscar this year and I cried!! I was so happy to see him win and his Goonie brothers and sisters all called him and congratulated him. Goonies never say die!

This is exactly what it was like in the 80s. Every kid had a rube goldberg machine in their front yard to open the nearby gate exactly once. It was majestic.
