My high school required you to take a foreign language (either 3 years of one, or 4 years divided among 2 languages) but I find it ridiculous that people are expected to plan out the rest of their lives at such a young age, and if you mess up even in the slightest it could derail your entire future... which sounds super dumb to me

*5 things to quit right now:*

*1. Overthinking*
*2. Trying to make everyone happy*
*3. Living in the past*
*4. Worrying*
*5. Doubting yourself*

Honestly, high school is super stressful and one of the most stressful things is worrying about your future. Me being a freshman I already have to worry about planning my life and colleges I want to get into, and there are college scouts at a lot of my hockey games (I play AAA) which stresses me out to an immeasurable degree. I wish I was back in elementary school when all you worried about was when you would have a sleepover with your friend.

Our school system really be screwing us from the start by making our 14 year old selves responsible for the foundation

It would be really cool if I saw this during my freshman year instead of sophomore year

I was stuck online, luckily colleges will probably take that into consideration… sophomore year babyyyy let’s go

God I remember students who did everything this guy just recommended and never got even a reply for Ivy Leagues. Then there is my friend group who put almost no effort into high school, but instead did internships and other eye catching things and we all go to Perdue 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ it’s not just about how hard you work to lay the foundation, it’s about how you present yourself in the college interviews. If you walk in all cocky and full of yourself like the majority of try hards then you probably won’t get accepted. If you talk to them about what makes you special and don’t just focus on how you got an A+ and a 4.0 your freshman year and give the interviewer respect and show humility, then you have a higher chance of acceptance than the majority of those annoying try hards you hated in high school

One thing to remember, college isnt the only option. Trades are hiring st an all time high right now, and the pay is fabulous. One thing I'll tell you, you don't need college to be stable. Find what you want to do in life, and find the cheapest accredited way to acquire those skills.

I'm in ninth grade and I'm doing almost NONE OF THESE THINGS— except for except for extra curriculars.

My only excuse is that picking a language to learn isn't required.

I am going into high school this year. I will be starting a program that will let me get my associates degree when I graduate, I am going to try my best to become an entrepreneur. Thanks for these amazing videos, I don’t know what I would do without them ❤ God bless you!
