Homeopathy Explained

Homeopathy is a pseudo-science that falls under the broad canopy of alternative and complimentary medicine. Invented by Samuel Hahnemann in 1796 and developed by him in the following years, homeopathy depends on the ideas of like-for-like, where symptoms can be alleviated by dliuted causes of symptoms.

Homeopathy's popularity has waxed and waned over the years, with very few homeopaths existing outside Europe in the 1950s, but the practice has gained traction since the 1970s.

In Canada a couple of years ago there was an indigenous 11 year old girl that had leukemia. With chemo, her chance of survival was put at 75%, practically zero without full chemo. It was apparently tough and her parents wanted to stop the chemo and treat her with "traditional" medicine. The hospital wanted Children's Aid to intervene to force the treatment. A judge refused to sign off on it.
Turns out the "traditional" medicine the family sought out was from a place in Florida, licensed as a massage parlor and run by some quack nutritionist. He wasn't even indigenous. She died of course. The family blames the chemo for killing her. Sad, really.

Real Life story here : i suffered from severe sinusitis as a child and after i stopped responding to anti-biotics, anti-allergy medicines/syrups etc the doctor concluded a surgery was necessary. Since i stay in india, homeopathy is really widely used and believed here so all my relatives suggested we give it a shot before going in for a surgery. I was given a shit load of homeo medicines that i had to take regularly. I was told it was a slow healing medical practice and it should cure my sinus eventually. As you can expect it didn't do shit in healing/curing. I had to suffer for 3-4 years without any medicines often not able to sleep at night with both my nostrils blocked. If only i knew the real truth behind this practice back then but i was a child i did as i was told. I eventually got my surgery done and never had any troubles since then. TLDR : DONT BELIEVE IN HOMEO ITS SHIT AND DOESNT WORK.
