Have you been wondering which course builder is better? Well a while ago I did the ultimate test to see whether Thinkific or Teachable was better. Because of that I created a Thinkific vs Teachable review.

or

I did use affiliate links, however, this won't affect your costs, and neither influenced my decision. It only goes towards my coffee funds.

We did a side by side comparison of the two course builders and broke it down as to which one won each of the main categories. So, check out this video to see which one I will be sticking with.

For those who wish to decide between Thinkific and Teachable, here's all you need to know, that is actually rarely commented in comparisons: Teachable displays videos for the students in 720. This is: not in full HD (1080). Teachable doesn't display this information in their web-site. They say they support HD and 4K, but that is only to upload the files. Video is then down-sized to 720 for the students. I asked their support, and they told me exactly that. This alone is the reason why you should choose Thinkific.

Because of your AMS course, I picked up access to Thinkific. And, I saw immediate results, so I upgraded to the pro plan. worth it. Big kudos on a balanced comparison video.

I opened this in YouTube just to say what a clear, well delivered and useful video that was. Thank you.

Thank you. This was soooo useful and I’m glad I picked Thinkific already. However I have to say that the Teachable comms, (tone of voice, brand personality etc) are so much warmer, friendlier and more attractive than Thinkific. When I was on Teachable I felt like I had found my people. So if Thinkific invested more in copywriting they would be even more fabulous! 😁

Thanks! I was just about to sign up for Teachable's free plan - and I had no idea it limits 10 students! That's a deal breaker for me!

Thank you very much! This was so helpful

I ended up going with Thinkific because they have an integrated discussion board which is a real plus for me. That and they don't charge a transaction fee. I appreciate your review!

Thank you very much for this video! It's very clear and specific. I was about to go with teachable (never heard of thinkific before). Teachable was my first choice because they handle the European VAT (I'm in France). But the features of thinkific seems better to my business, especially the quizzes options, video integration... Also, I just created an account after watching your video. I find thinkific more intuitive than teachable. If I definitely go with thinkific (which will be the case I think), I'll use Quaderno to handle the European VAT.

This was a super helpful video thank you! I've been torn between these two platforms for a month but had been leaning toward Thinkific. You really helped me in my decision with your balanced review.

This was amazingly helpful. I like how you broke out all of the features and showed screenshots. Definitely helpful for those of us evaluating the platforms side by side but haven't seen them in action!

There's a BIG draw back to thinkific, that is, if you make a particular video in your course a free preview, people will still have to sign up in order to watch it, where with teachable, people can still watch it without having to sign up, just like Udemy. A temporary solution is to add/embed the video in the sales page itself so people can watch it. I have reached out to thinkific about this, but haven't heard back from them yet.

I am going to try Thinkific.Teachable giving only ten student option in the free plan kind of stops market testing early.Great video .I like the style

The side-by-side looks great, Dave! Gotta say, I was a little surprised by your findings, but appreciate you doing this. I know which service I'll be using in the future. Thank you—and good luck to your daughter as she returns to college!

Thinkific also has a Shopify integration. So if you already have a Shopify store they’ll automatically enroll students. They have communities as well

Appreciate you for putting this video up, helped me to essentially decide as I really was unsure which of the two to choose, especially since I had read an older review with the old course interface/look of Thinkific but after watching this video, I learned that Thinkific has updated theirs, time to try them out! Thank you!

Thanks for the video Dave. One thing I didn't see you mention that you might want to consider is the Uptime of each of the sites as well. I think between the two Thinkific is a better option. I've used the free Thinkific option for a small course and love how easy it is. When I was looking for a platform to launch a major course I was seriously considering using them. I compared them to Click Funnels, Kajabi and others . . . I decided to go with Kajabi at the end of the day because of how easy everything integrates. Yes the plan I have cost double what Thinkific's plan is but Kajabi just seemed to have everything I need and want. They have a Free 28 Day Trail if you're interested.
