We upgraded our trip to Northern California but visiting Sonoma County which is just 45 minutes from San Francisco!! We went wine tasting for the first time, whale watching, did a safari, found the Russian River and lots more!!

Where are your favourite places to visit in Sonoma County? Where should people head for?

This video was a lot of fun to watch. Your kids are so cool and are the stars of the video for me. I've lived in Sonoma County for 50 years. You hit some highlights but there is so much more in Sonoma County it would be hard to see and experience it in just a few days. I live in Sebastopol which is in the west county. It used to be a bunch of young hippies. Now, it has a bunch of old wealthy hippies. Art and music everywhere. Each city has its charms. Petaluma, Occidental, Sonoma, Cotati, and even Santa Rosa, which is the biggest city in Northern California north of San Francisco. For adults, we have world class (and expensive) restaurants and wineries. Much hipper than Napa, which tends to be more snooty and populated by wealthy corporate types. Sonoma County is more real, more down to earth. I've traveled the world and would not live anywhere else. I moved here when I was a kid in college. Now, I'm an old geezer. I still find new things to do and see in Sonoma County. For example, I've never been to the Safari. It looks cool so I think i'll check it out.

Driving up the Pacific Coast Highway to Mendocino offers some truly amazing views of California's rugged and beautiful northern coast. And Mendicino is a beautiful and charming town.

This was certainly pretty cool to watch ive lived in sonoma County all my life, one thing I would add is that our beaches aren't the greatest for swimming due to freezing water and stronge undertoes
